Marketing Messaging Refines Business for Retirement Planology

Retirement Planology, Inc. provides expert, focused advice to organizations on their employee retirement plan and tailored services, including plan fiduciary support, plan and vendor management, participant education, and investment management.

As brand editor, Salem Roberts was initially brought in to work directly with CEO Courtenay Shipley on the messaging of their company website.

Over four years, Retirement Planology refined and aligned their messaging across all marketing channels to create a predictable system for cold emailing, landing page behaviors, and lead generation.

Consistently this system showed that 55% of people sent a cold email will open it, of those people 20% will reply, 1% of replies are leads, and 25% of replies will sign up for the mailing list.

Blending data and intuition, Roberts was able to double the average email marketing open rates as reported by Mailchimp for all non-labeled accounts.

Personality profiles of cold contacts were also logged using the DISC profile. High-D’s were more likely to respond with quick “no’s” versus high-I’s who are more likely to say “yes” to signing up for an email list.
